The Naan table expresses a sort of double essence: an extremely delicate appearance but with a decisive solidity to its frame. Piero Lissoni deliberately highlights the austerity of its form. The ultra light rectangular tabletop is only 10 mm thick. It posed a stimulating challenge for Cassina, which drew from its extensive woodworking experience, blending artisan tradition and a modern industrial approach.
From living rooms to meeting rooms, Naan adds a discrete yet distinctive personality.
Its essence is enriched by smoked oak. In this innovative process wood is subjected to high temperatures, granting it extreme resistance (to humidity as well) and a dark finishing, which, unlike traditional varnishes that provide a flatter and more artificial effect, preserves the wood while leaving its natural grain fully visible.
More durable and compact, the wood is practically transformed into fossil. The heat-induced coloration penetrates the fibers deeply, thus remaining unaltered over time.
Rectangular table with fixed or extendable top in natural oak, smoked oak, American walnut, whitened or black stained ashwood. Stability is ensured by an internal anchoring system nested in the thin supporting aluminum legs wrapped in wood. Naan is available in two versions: extendable or non-extendable
