It’s a bug…it’s a lamp…it’s a- bright idea? Chris Kabel’s Sticky Lamp resembles something along the lines of curious glowbugs crawling up your wall towards the ceiling, depending on your placement, of course. Just peel off the back lid and stick as high or low as you please. They weigh less than a pound and come in a dimension of 7.1” x 9.8” x 2.8” For energy saver or LED lights only.

Philippe Starck wants you to enjoy your music freely which is why the wireless Zikmu Parrot can be controlled with a remote, and charge your electronic iPod or iPhone device while you enjoy the clarity of sound emerging from the speakers. The Parrot is available in five modern colors, black, grey, pale green, white, and bright red. The high tech exciters vibrate the speaker membrane’s honeycomb structure for a uniform energy distribution throughtout the room. Have a seat in the human catapult! Not really, though the sleek curve of the spooned seat crooking into the stem, to base, lends an imaginative use for the uniquely designed stool. Made of plastic polypropylene, the specially reinforced curve of the seat is meant to ensure comfort and flexibility. Designed by Antonio Citterio and Toan Nguyen, the gas lift pump adjusts the seat height nearly 8 inches, the handle discreetly hidden within the seat. Available in a variety of colors, this saucy stool is available by Kartell at a going rate of $620.

Do you feel bit dorky sporting a bicycle helmet? I do: an aesthetically dis-pleasing, strictly utilitarian experience. Helmets seemed made to be ripped off as soon as possible. That was before I purchased my new “Nutcase”. A Portland, Oregon company comes up with stylish helmet alternatives to go with your other cool gear. Gigantic daisies […]

Whether or not you must throw your trash on the street, what about pink and white polka dot designer trash bags? Or Anycoloryoulike?
Each bag is biodegradable and treated with repellent for even rodents of unusual size. Though this is a New York City art intervention initiative, you can splashy trash in your town too.

Much like a canteen for campers, this simple design is a compact carrier for your pet’s food and water. Made of two halves, the Charlybox includes a two-liter canteen for fresh water, and two bowls for water and kibble. Bring one for each dog per day. Great gift for a pet owner. Or treat yourself […]

A home that makes the Smart car, standing side-by-side, look like a SUV. No, an 18-wheeler.
“Micro-Compact Home” [m-ch] was inspired by Japanese tea houses, yes, the Smart car and first class air travel. They are lightweight, modular, mobile and very minimal 2.65m (roughly 77 sq ft). That equates into a 266 x 266 x 266 centimeter cube ‘Home,’ Imagine that? It’s not for the claustrophobic, a dwelling non-the-less, for one or two people. This is not a tent, a trailer, but a home, in a super compact design.

they’re called green toys because they save energy. how much energy is saved ? on average(*), every pound of recycled milk jugs used in the making of green toys:
saves energy equal to 3,000 aaa batteries.
saves enough electricity to power a tv set for three weeks.
saves enough electricity to keep a laptop computer running for a month.
(*) compared to non-recycled plastic.
green toys says it uses recycled milk containers as the main ingredient in creating their toys. when you finish your milk and toss the container in the recycling bin, the milk containers are collected at your curb by a local recycling company who separates them from all the other types of plastic. next, the milk containers are reprocessed into super clean fresh plastic. for the plastic geeks, the plastic material is high-density polyethylene (or HDPE). this material is considered one of the safest, cleanest plastics around.
