The Belvedere lamp designed by Antonio Citterio hardly conjures up images of a stout, mustached butler- but rather a simple light, discreetly illuminating its surroundings, set among the elements. Rain and humidity do not impede on its function, the lamp is a natural beacon. The LEDs, an energy efficient source of light, does not emit any heat. The understatement inherent in its design drives the Belvedere into a new season of luminescence.

These upholstered benches convey a comfort with a minimalistic approach. A broader front that slims up on the sides is of a generous size that adds to the effect of suspension given by metal tubes supporting the couch. These are the features perfectly expressed by the name given to this project. “Cloud”.

This is the car you’d want to drive all across the Monopoly board as you scoop up coveted properties along the boardwalk and then some. The Konstantin beta toy car, created by Nika Zupanc, has the charm of an antique roller car fused with the polished finesse of the present. This fine toy comes in aluminum epoxy-lacquered lemon and black, or a matte black version. The gold or silver accents are the deluxe detail adding to Konstantin’s posh impression.

The jumper chair consists of one continous oversized woolen knitted cover, with qualities very much like that of a jumper, the knitted cover is wrapped over the solid wood structure and bent to steel legs. The cover is knitted on a “knit and wear” machine that is adapted for clothing garments but this is where the fashion and design production processes divide. One the garment is completed it is then run through a high degree wash to attain a seamlesss and upholstered effect, eradicating most of the stretch from the wool but presenting a high quality fabric and is suitable for contract application. The jumper is available in three different colorways.

The electric vehicle is a cool idea too often poorly executed. Today’s batteries don’t have the oomph or range to be practical — unless you drop 100 grand for a Tesla. That’s why Brammo’s gearheads started with motorcycles. They’re so light that even readily available batteries can make one commute-worthy. The 285-pound Enertia is proof of that. At its heart is a lithium-iron-phosphate power cell designed to be as safe as it is efficient. “A plasma fire is not something we want to see,” company founder Craig Bramscher says. The Enertia charges in just over three hours and is good for 45 miles. The 13-kW motor silently propels the electro-cycle to 30 mph in 3.8 seconds — quick enough to beat that cab away from the light — and to a top speed of 53 mph. Brammo hasn’t created a highway-ready monster (yet), but Bramscher takes heart in what his creation can do: The electric motor’s instantaneous torque is perfect for wheelies.

Cappellini manufactures the Todd Bracher design, which is constructed using metal tube and steel plate, featuring a lazer-cut seat. Alodia is available in two heights and a bevy of cool colors: anthracite, mustard, white, green, light blue and avio blue; all with a matte finish. Alodia is sharp-looking, but she won’t be sharp on your floors since she stands on black plastic feet. Dimensions: width 460 mm; height 720 mm, 820 mm; depth 540 mm.
