You can’t help it. It’s a reflex. You stick out your hand when you fall — it’s better to stop the descent with your palm than your face, right? That’s fine when you’re ambling down the street, but add an extra 80 mph and the weight of a motorcycle to the momentum equation and the bones in your paw might not take the strain very well. They could shift, buckle — even snap. What you need is an exoskeleton. If you know Tony Stark, you might be able to get something custom. For the rest of us, there’s the Knox Handroid, a Kevlar-, kangaroo-hide-, and, yes, exoskeleton-reinforced motorcycle gauntlet. Thermoplastic urethane spines run down the outside of each finger and flex with your digits. To keep the armor in place, a ratchet system cinches 19 strands of stainless steel wire, spreading the pressure across your entire forearm. Then, when the pavement tries to persuade your bones to move beyond their comfort zone, the Handroid answers no. That’s the reflex you’re looking for.
Specifications:
# Knox Handroid live exoskeleton finger and knuckle protection on all fingers and thumb
# Knox metapod protector
# Knox Sport styled Scaphoid protection system
# Knox wrist slider
# Knox cuff slider
# “Dialled in” Boa lacing system
# Kangaroo leather palm
# Amara grip pad with silicon print for improved control
# Japanese race quality drum dyed Aniline leather
# Japanese polyester high tenacity thread
# Superior fit and comfort

It’s a bug…it’s a lamp…it’s a- bright idea? Chris Kabel’s Sticky Lamp resembles something along the lines of curious glowbugs crawling up your wall towards the ceiling, depending on your placement, of course. An elegant “blob” of glass is a sophisticated way to arrange your pens, pencils and ruler. The indentations in the molten, glossy glass were specifically molded for this purpose, while the solid weight of the glass naturally acts as a paperweight. Available in multiple colors and shapes.
This desk organizer and paperweight was inspired by the left-over “blob” materials from the glass blowing process. Its organic shape and indentations hold an array of office supplies such as pens, pencils, and rulers, while the mass of the glass suffices as a natural paperweight.

The Naoto Fukasawa Leia lamp was inspired by the sophisticate of the grand piano. The Leia lamps come in either a high-gloss black or white, including a family of standing, table and reading lights. The body of the lamp is made of an impressive opal, sanitized art glass that can be dimmed or switched on or off independently, depending on what kind of illumination you want to achieve. The body is also an unintentional energy-saver. The base of the lights contrasts distinctly with the cover above it. The head of the warmly lit, halogen reading light can be tilted to allow the light beam to reflect at 35º.

You don’t set the glass on the table- the glass is the table. Established & Sons have crafted a hand-blown glass table, designed by Konstantin Grcic. The unique design is a two-part construct. A voluptuous, free-form glass bubble makes up the base of the table, and is topped by a translucent, colored table-top sheet of glass. This piece, named Blow, represents the work achievable using the skill of fine Venini artisans.

Have a seat in the human catapult! Not really, though the sleek curve of the spooned seat crooking into the stem, to base, lends an imaginative use for the uniquely designed stool. Made of plastic polypropylene, the specially reinforced curve of the seat is meant to ensure comfort and flexibility. Designed by Antonio Citterio and Toan Nguyen, the gas lift pump adjusts the seat height nearly 8 inches, the handle discreetly hidden within the seat. Available in a variety of colors, this saucy stool is available by Kartell at a going rate of $620.

The Kelvin LED by Antonio Citterio is a desk lamp with a surprisingly large spread of direct light and a double pantograph arm and 360 degree swiveling head. The body is cast in aluminum alloy with the outside head in die-cast aluminum with an injection-molded metalacrylate diffuser, while the external cover of the base in ABS with a white, anthracite, or black finish. This popular Flos lamp gives you both a warm, soft light while it is also an energy-efficient light source with LEDs. While using special Flostouch technology the switch only needs a light touch to turn the lamp on or off, or to change between the two levels of light intensity.
