The Glo Ball lamp family, designed by Jasper Morrison, is a collection of orbs lamps capable of setting any space they are placed in “aglow”. The collection of light models allow the Glo Ball to be both suspended from the ceiling or to stand upright in a room. The soft sphere of hand-blown opal glass is complimented by the stark, white stainless steel base it rests on. The modern lamps are produced by Flos and are available with fluorescent or halogen lights.

The Bunch vase takes on the look of a, bunch of flowers, with the stems bunched together. The case is a sleek combination of a container and its contents inspired by art of ikebana, in which the flowers and other natural elements are arranged to form compositions of elegance. Wrongwoods seems like an adequate description of the colors used for the different wooden home furnishing pieces offered through Established & Sons- but really it’s the combined last names of British artist Richard Woods and designer Sebastian Wrong, as part of a collaboration project hosted by E&S. The unfashionable, yet recognizable Wood pattern used for this line of utilitarian cabinets conveys a fashionable message in the unusually colored items. The typical materials used for these pieces are: timber, plywood, paint, clear lacquer and sometimes 6mm toughened glass.

The Chasen s2 suspension light designed by Patricia Urquiola for Flos gleams brightly from the 30 % fiberglass-reinforced polyamide ceiling rose hanging from the galvanized steel fixture. The light emission can be adjusted by a mechanical movement that opens the louvers, also gently varying the shape of the luminaire. The light features liquid paint protection and a die-cast aluminum base. Available in white and black. Incandescent 120 W par 38.

If Oskar Zieta were decorating rooms in comic books, one of the rooms might feature a chair like this. Two steel plates are welded together and then expanded under high pressure, ensuring every Plopp chair is a unique creation. The black, yellow, gray or white stool/sculptures are either powder-coated or stainless steel.

The HAY-produced, moulded plywood Shanghay chair is composed of four small boards that fold around each other to form “the simplest chair imaginable.” Originally conceived for the Danish Pavillion for the Shanghai World Expo 2010, the chair was created to be a single segment of a long social bench that extends throughout both the inside and outside of the pavillion, in collaboration between BIG and Jeppe Hein. Multi-colored and easy to assemble, dissemble and reassemble, these pieces offer the versatility to create whatever hybrid design of the Shanghay you like.

Wood and metal are furniture staples, but they have been classically rethought by Michael Young for their roles as components of the Lancaster chair. The cast aluminum seat and back are created to be indestructible, without compromising their chic, wearing either dark anodized or machine polished finishes. The wood legs are available in natural ash-wood and dark stain ash-wood. Emeco’s debut of the chair collection by the British designer will introduce the company’s first foray into component-based design. The Lancaster chair is brought together with materials meant to age richly, and maintain its stance as a good, sophisticated standard.
