Swedish design group front (sofia lagerkvist, charlotte von der lancken and anna lindgren) have developed a new product for Italian furniture company porro on show during Milan design week 2012.
The ‘chameleon unit’ a color changing cupboard has a seemingly ‘magic volume’ that is constantly opening on itself like a game of chinese boxes, changing in appearance and revealing new finishes. Intended for use as a cupboard for the bedroom, it consists of a central crate in pear wood, equipped with drawers and shelves. The hinges are covered in precious leather stripes that allow it to be turned and revolved like a suitcase or a bag. The piece transforms its color and look, from black to white, according to the way it is configured by a user.
