French brand louis vuitton unveiled a new luxury collection ‘objets nomades’ at the temporary louis vuitton miami design district store during design miami 2012. A series of foldable furniture designs and travel accessories using louis vuitton’s exclusive nomade leather.
The company worked with a various designers such as maarten baas, patricia urquiola, nendo’s oki sato, atelier oi and christian liaigre to conceive 16 pieces – including hanging chairs, lamps, foldable furniture and travel accessories. the designs naturally boast leather features, each one tailored specifically to accommodate the sophisticated globe-trotter.
Inspired by Louis Vuitton’s Monogram flower pattern, the stool invented by Milan-based Spanish designer, Patricia Urquiola, is both playful and light. Exuding as much elegance as a handbag with its sleek contours, you could imagine using this product in any environment, easily portable tucked underneath your arm.
Fisherman traditionally used foldable seats on deck, and Spanish stalwart Patricia Urquiola wanted to infuse that sense of practicality with the sleekness revered in Louis Vuitton. The result is travel stool, dubbed Lady Fisher (a nod to those mariners) that when collapsed, appears as a handbag. And with its lightweight aluminum frame, it’s about as heavy as one. While ‘Lady Fisher’ is still in its proto-type phase, rumor has it that it might go into production.
