While closely resembling last year’s multiple race-winning car, the all-new Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-27 has been redesigned from the ground-up with all major systems updated for the new season. Some of the most obvious visual differences include more tightly waisted rear bodywork, which was developed to improve flow to the rear of the car, and a revised cooling system that redirects the gearbox oil-cooler. The U-shaped sidepods of yesteryear have also been redone, which redefine the shape of the rear bodywork.
