Adapted from its indoor form, originally designed in 1957, the Brazilian minimalist armchair by Paulo Mendes da Rocha is contemporized as an outdoor-friendly companion. Instead of leather snugly covering the single pipe of tubular steel, the Paulistano wears a bright canvas cover expertly treated to dispel water, rot and stains of every kind as it withstands the elements. The bent carbon steel frame of this Paulistano is painted in either sleek black or airy white, the latter color being the first update of its kind.
Brought to you by New York-based ESPASSO, the Paulistano is offered in a variety of colors and pricing is available by request.
Dimensions: W 28″ x D 28″ x H 32″

designer: paulo mendes da rocha
producer: espasso
material: carbon steel and canvas
period: 2000s
