Furthering its commitment to “Made in the U.K.” Balineum is pleased to introduce the first in a series of exciting collaborations with talented British designers. First up is award-winning artisan Miranda Watkins whose work is included in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Royal Institute of British Architects, and Kensington Palace.
For the inaugural range, Watkins has crafted a collection of pewter accessories that transform this favored material of the Middle Ages into a thoroughly modern oeuvre. Unlike the pewter of yesteryear, Watkins’ range is characterized by space age silhouettes that have been polished to mirror-like effect. Further boosting its provenance, each piece is handmade in Sheffield by the esteemed metalworkers of A.R. Wentworth. Offerings include a soap pump, tumbler, vessel and rounded tissue box cover along with a sleek oval tray.
A shining example of pewter’s modern applications, celebrated British artisan Miranda Watkins designed this range especially for Balineum. Each piece is handmade in Sheffield and polished to an incredible sheen by an esteemed group of local metalworkers.
