Philippe Nigro has been working for some years now on the themes of intersecting, interlocking and combined shapes, brilliantly demonstrating these concepts with his Confluences settees and Insepérable table-footstool. Here, he intertwines these studies with another principle which has already been explored by means of the Flax armchair : the updating of the structure of a seat, a functional carcass which is habitually concealed from view, and which becomes, on the contrary, its principle aesthetic attribute. Whereas Flax offers us a structure in curved slats of solid walnut, the structure of Passio / Résille is an exploration of curved stainless steel wire. The Résille bridge chair and armchair tangle the horizontal lines of their two backrests and have a slim seat cushion (Bultex foam for the indoor version / Bultex foam and special ‘outdoor’ covering). The Résille round pedestal table combine curved stainless steel wire with tops in cured larch. This thermal pressure treatment stabilizes the larch for outdoor use. Over time, it will take on a greyish hue in harmony with the stainless steel base.
Résille armchair’s delicate beauty starts with its thin, stainless steel base. The foam seat cushion comes with an additional comfort layer, a water-repellent cloth liner and waterproof sealed seams.
Résille’s outdoor collection also comprises a dining chair with a steel wire base, curved and intersecting in the back, with a slim seat cushion in Bultex® foam. Options without arms are available.
Complete the Résille collection with this cafe table with passivated, satin-finish outdoor-quality tubular stainless steel. The top is available in cured larch or clear toughened glass.
Indoor / outdoor table: Passivated, satin-finish outdoor-quality 304 tubular stainless steel and stainless steel wire (or 316 for seaside or boat use). Nylon gliders. Top in clear toughened glass or Top in cured larch. Over time it will acquire a greyish tone to complement the stainless steel.
