The new Excentro Umbrella S1 from StructureLab is an artful, architectural sunshade inspired by sails and air. This light, free-flowing umbrella boasts a unique shape that will command attention on the deck, in the garden or by the pool. The irregular frame is clad in a fresh, light fabric, creating a multitude of shapes. By day, these modern shades screen the sun, while at night they make stunning focal points when combined with some dramatic lighting. Available in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes, these contemporary sun umbrellas can be sophisticated or fun, but always cool.

A curved textile membrane which is held up only from the top defines the distinctive shape of this newly-developed sunshade system. The umbrella creates a space of unique atmosphere as well by day as by night, when the S1 turns into a striking luminous sculpture. The Structurelab S1 is available in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes, starting from 3.50 meters in diameter. The choice of materials like powder-coated aluminum profiles or filigree fiber glass elements, contributes to the appearance of an extremely light and elegant construction. The S1 – awarded with the red dot design award 2006 – combines harmonic aesthetics with precise technology and defines a new era in the fields of outdoor sun shading devices.

The development in close cooperation with architects and membrane-engineers aimed at creating an innovative and unique shading system and design element. The result is the convincing synthesis of a sail’s elegance and a mobile umbrella’s flexibility and functionality.
