Salewa offers the first alpine mountaineering boot, called the Gaiter Pro, with a climb/walk mechanism located in the sole of the boot. By rotating the small dial, one can choose between a rigid sole for support whilst climbing on steep terrain, or a “walk mode,” which allows for the sole to flex a bit more, allowing for a long walk on flatter ground to be much more bearable. Extremely innovative and stylish.
