Whether you live somewhere that has extreme weather, or you’re visiting somewhere that inspires you to get extreme in a frostily archaic climate- you can take a ride on the snow cycle by Hammacher Schlemmer for a thrill. The Guinness World Record breaker for the longest vertical drop (107,400′ in 11 hours), this snow vehicle resembles something of a fancy ski-cycle and was designed in Oberndorf, Austria. Balanced by front and rear skis with in-line, foot-mounted blades, the top speeds of the “sit-ski” have been measured to reach up to 66 mph. The cycle’s powder-coated steel frame is built to endure icy, wet exposure, and its patented front elastomer/spring suspension is directed by a t-bar steering column to sustain concise turns. All of that adventure would be a major pain in the butt if not for the padded saddle’s integrated leaf spring cushions, meant to deter any unnecessary discomfort from sitting or bouncing along for an extended period of time. The 22″ L x 3 1/4″ W skis boast adjustable binding and are to be worn with either alpine ski or snowboarding boots. 77″ L x 24″ W x 30 1/2″ H; 38 lbs.
