This smart design turns a product that is used for entertainment into a utilitarian product, a wristwatch. The user can simply slide their iPod Nano music player in and out of the wrist dock or screw it in for the more permanent version, the LunaTik.
Scott WIlson, the founder of MINIMAL, dreamed up this idea after Steve Jobs announced the 6th generation of the iPod Nano. Apple’s ability to create such a small package with so much technological complexity is no small feat. Wilson, after working as the former Global Creative Director for Nike Watches realized the potential in this small multi-touch color display, something he says watch companies have been trying to accomplish for years. He was able to make his product a reality with the help of creative funding on Kickstarter.com.
The wristband compliments the clean design of the Nano’s beautifully in both the TikTok and the LunaTik. The TikTok, which allows you to snap the Nano in the watch dock is made with abs plastic and a comfortable high-grade silicone rubber band that is available in black or white, and now CMYK colors for the ultimate design nerd. The LunaTik, which lets the user screw their Nano is for a secure and more permanent watch, contains an anodized aluminum case and same silicone rubber wristband available in black, silver, red, and camo color.
