If you’re a nostalgia retro junkie, if you don’t mind analog, read on.
Montreal-based electronics and product development firm detraform has developed the L7 cordless phone for swissvoice. Working alongside a creative team including art director joel blair, london-based design studio kiwi & pom, and composer james p. cooper, the L7 imagines and executes the next icon in home cordless communication.
Careful consideration went into every detail of the three-piece phone package — upright handset, minimal charging dock and stylized base station — right down to the custom interface, screen icons and typeface. the design of the L7 draws reference from the set props of old spy movies and science fiction shows, managing to be both classic and refined while remaining distinctive and fun. The L7 is anchored on the principal telephone functions of speaking and listening while renouncing gratuitous features. It’s mounted on long-range, secure DECT transmissions, and powered by swissvoice’s ‘fulleco’ technology for reduced emissions and power use. The TAM version incorporates an
answering machine in both the base station and handset.
– Swiss Quality: the L7 combines robust construction with high-quality components for a product that’s built to last.
– Unique Features: a speakerphone in both the handset. Additionally, it features a simple one-button, push-to-talk intercom system that allows the handset and base station to function like walkie-talkies.
– Visual Answering Machine: New messages are listed in sequence by name or number so you can easily select the message you want without having to listen to the whole recorded time sequence.
– 100 Contacts.
– Battery Power: a lithium-ion battery provides up to 12 hrs talk time and up to 8 days standby time.
– Display: the white, backlit display features a custom typeface and screen icons.
– High Quality Components: You’ll be surprised how clear the audio is both in regular calling and from the speakerphone.
– Custom Ringtones.
The swissvoice L7 is available today (2014) in the UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. North American and further global markets are coming soon.
