What is playfully referred to as “a towering achievement” on the Established & Sons’ webpage for Raw Edges, turns out to actually be a towering achievement, literally. Created for Stack by Shay Alkalay as part of a Principal Collection, and re-launched in 2010, Raw Edges is a stylistic approach to a conventional means of storage.
Challenging the typical model for drawer sets which are structurally confined by a set frame, number of drawers and the direction they can be opened, is Raw Edges. Supported by a centrally placed frame, these birch plywood drawers can be individually stacked as high as 13 drawers, and pushed or pulled in either direction. The end result is a practical piece of furniture possessing a fashionably off-kilter appearance and kinetic form. Raw Edges is available in three color palettes, including: neutrals, greens and reds (all with a clear lacquer finish); or wood veneer. The dimensions of the two standard sizes are-
