The Barcelona-based duo Harry& Camila, known for their knack for experimenting with various textiles and topologies in their design projects, did just that to create the springy BCN stool. A special plastic that is typically used for insulating electrical components makes up the seat of this outdoor stool for Kristalia. Shaped into a whimsical, curvy S-shape, the seat tops a tall or short tubular steel frame that parlays either a chrome or lacquered finish and balances the seat atop its sturdy, tripod-esque base.
This unique plastic was selected for the BCN because of its resistance to wear and tear, making it an ideal material for outdoor use. A YouTube video depicts the chairs being rocked in by someone’s bottom, walked on and stood on, all without causing the stool to tip over or appear compromised in any way.
Available in various heights and in the following colors: white PBT, black PBT, green PBT (Pantone 395 U) and red coral PBT.
