People collect all manner of things, from the rare and valuable to the banal and everyday. The Collector series for Glas Italia is designed to display these types of objects. The collection is comprised of vitrines; two low glass tables and three taller glass cases. The cabinets are made from UV bonded curved glass with the base constructed in black stained solid wood. The internal surface comes in a mirror or wood version, for more secret collections there is a version with a fully mirrored outer.
Barber and Osgerby designed the cabinets to showcase their own collections of random objects sourced from flea markets and overseas trips.
“One of the reasons we did the Collector Series is that we both now have such quantities of junk that we need something to put them in,” Osgerby told Dezeen.
