A sofa for exteriors but designed for the age-old and very noble art of conversation. In this sofa everyone can find their ideal depth of seating position and posture: more composed or more gently relaxed, depending on one’s temperament or the circumstances of the day. Ludovica and Roberto Palomba wanted Grand Plié (this is the name of the sofa) to open up like an embrace and be able to seat up to four people, and then accommodate the Plié chairs and Piaffé tables in the projection of its curve, in a sort of controlled void. In terms of volumetry, the fluid mass of the bases contrasts with the slender geometry of the backrests. The rotational molding technique finds renewed effectiveness in this collection, a new raison d’être, and the outdoor increasingly emerges as a privileged place for design.
