The Mono- a cutlery set designed by Professor Peter Raacke in 1959 helped set the tone for a new era of design for flatware. He chucked out the concept of ornate, detailed silverware to usher in the simplicity of a modern, industrialist approach to this age-old meal accessory.
Originally, the cutlery set was punched from a single sheet of stainless steel. So simple a form was a new idea for eating utensils then. It was a winning idea, for Mono-a remains one of the most sold German design cutlery of the post-war era. Additionally, the collection has received numerous domestic and international design awards.
The Mono-a flatware set is available in a variety of configurations through Luminaire.
