The Tybee Jump Rope is a handsome and performant new take on a classic. Use it everyday—forever. The jump rope is cleverly assembled from turned walnut handles, leather cord, and paracord with a little water and heat to bind them all together. In this final design, the leather cords are threaded through turned and CNC milled walnut handles—its almost a shame to cover up the handles given how beautiful the walnut grain is. The leather and the handle are then whipped together with a length of paracord that also forms the grip. Finally the binding is strengthened by pouring a small amount of boiling water over the paracord. For the time being each rope is assembled in the company’s office by hand. This jump rope is named for Tybee Island near Savannah, Georgia—home to both a beautiful beach and a lost nuclear weapon.
